You can change the temperature sensing from the return air sensor to the wall controller by adjusting Function 42 and Function 48 in the indoor unit’s function settings.
When Function 42 and Function 48 are both set to 01, the system will sense and control temperature from the wall controller, and the temperature displayed on the wall controller will be the same value the system is controlling to.
When both Function 42 and Function 48 are set to 00, the system will sense and control from the return air (RA) sensor, but the wall controller will still display its own local temperature. In this mode, the displayed temperature may differ from the system’s control point since the RA sensor governs operation.
In summary:
| Function 42 | Function 48 | Control Sensor | Displayed Temperature |
|---|---|---|---|
| 01 | 01 | Wall Controller | Wall Controller |
| 00 | 00 | Return Air | Wall Controller |
If you want the wall controller to both display and control the room temperature from its own sensor, set Function 42 = 01 and Function 48 = 01.
