Overview

Both the UTY-CDRXZC and UTY-ANY controllers can operate standard 24V AC zone motors; however, the RJ12 pin configuration differs between models.
To use the same zone motor across both controllers, the RJ12 connector must be rewired according to the appropriate terminal layout below.

UTY-CDRXZC Wiring (RJ12 Port Pinout)

Used with Fujitsu Ducted Zoning Systems (Zone 1–8).

PinFunction
1 & 2OPEN (Active)
3 & 4COMMON (Neutral)
5 & 6CLOSE (Active)

Wiring Notes:

  • Connect each damper cable from Zone 1 to Zone 8 to the respective port.

  • Use cable ties to secure damper cables.

  • Fill unused port holes with one-touch bushes for protection.

  • Each damper output provides 24V AC switching signal (Open/Common/Close).

RJ12 Reference Layout (CDRXZC)

1OPEN ACTIVE 2OPEN ACTIVE 3 – COMMON 4 – COMMON 5CLOSE ACTIVE 6CLOSE ACTIVE

UTY-ANY Wiring (RJ12 Port Pinout)

Used with AnywAIR or Smart Zoning Interfaces.

PinFunction
1Not used
2CLOSE ACTIVE
3COMMON NEUTRAL
4OPEN ACTIVE
5Not used
6Not used

RJ12 Reference Layout (ANY)

1 – N/A 2 – CLOSE ACTIVE 3 – COMMON NEUTRAL 4 – OPEN ACTIVE 5 – N/A 6 – N/A

Rewiring Requirements

If using the same 24V zone motor between controllers:

  • Re-pin the RJ12 connector to match the controller’s wiring scheme.

  • Ensure correct mapping of:

    • OPEN signal

    • CLOSE signal

    • COMMON/NEUTRAL

⚠️ Incorrect wiring may cause the damper motor to operate in reverse or fail to respond.

Verification Test

  1. Power ON the controller.

  2. Command the damper to OPEN.

    • Motor should rotate or actuator should move to the open position.

  3. Command the damper to CLOSE.

    • Motor should drive to the closed position.

  4. If the direction is reversed, swap the OPEN and CLOSE conductors.

Technical Notes

  • Both controllers output 24V AC switching control (not DC).

  • Do not connect external 24V transformers; power is supplied via controller board.

  • Always confirm correct polarity using the RJ12 pinout diagrams before operation.

  • Use shielded control cables in multi-zone applications to minimize interference.

On the other hand, the UTY-ANY zone motors are wired like this

You can use the same zone motor on both controllers however you will need to rewire the RJ12 connector to suit the appropriate wiring diagram.
