Overview
The Emergency Function in Fujitsu General’s VRF systems ensures safety and reliability during critical situations such as fire emergencies, power failures, or other unexpected events. This feature allows the system to respond promptly by halting operations or switching to a predefined mode to minimize risks and ensure safety.
Key Features of the Emergency Function
Immediate System Shutdown:
Halts all operations instantly during emergencies to prevent further risks, such as fire spread or electrical hazards.
Centralized Control:
Works in sync with centralized controllers to ensure a unified response across all connected units.
Integration with External Systems:
Can be triggered by external devices such as fire alarms, manual emergency switches, or centralized remote controllers.
Flexible Settings:
Allows for manual or automatic reset after the emergency situation is resolved.
Use Cases
Commercial Buildings: Ensures immediate response to fire alarms or other safety triggers.
Industrial Facilities: Prevents the escalation of risks in large, multi-zone environments.
Hotels and Hospitals: Protects occupants by shutting down systems during critical incidents.
Setting Up the Emergency Function
Install External Connection Kit:
Ensure the optional external connection kit (e.g., UTY-XWZXZ7) is installed on the VRF system.
Connect External Emergency Device:
Wire the fire alarm or manual emergency switch to the specified terminals (e.g., CN6, CN7) on the outdoor unit PCB.
Follow recommended wiring specifications (e.g., AWG 22-20).
Configure Emergency Function Settings:
Access the function setup menu using the remote controller or centralized control panel.
Input the Function No. and Setting No. for the Emergency Function:
Function No.: 50 (Emergency Stop)
Setting No.: Define whether the system requires a manual or automatic reset.
Test the Configuration:
Simulate an emergency trigger (e.g., activating the fire alarm) to verify the system responds appropriately.
