UTY-CDRXZC and UTY-CDRXZD Temperature Sensor Function Settings
Enabling wired-controller and optional zone temperature sensors
Applicable to the 2-wire Zone Control Interface using UTY-CDRXZC or UTY-CDRXZD wired controllers
Before completing Zone Initial Setting, program the required Zone Function Settings and Indoor Unit Function Setting. These settings enable the primary and secondary wired-controller sensors and up to eight optional remote temperature sensors.
Important: Complete these function settings before Zone Initial Setting and system operation. Confirm all sensor wiring and connections before programming.
1. Required function settings
Zone Controller settings
Use the following Zone Function Settings to enable the required temperature sensors.
| Function No. | Setting No. | Sensor enabled | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| 07 | 01 | Primary wired remote controller | Enables the temperature sensor in the primary wall controller. |
| 08 | 01 | Secondary wired remote controller | Enables the temperature sensor in the secondary wall controller. |
| 31-38 | 01 | Optional sensors 1-8 | Enables each connected optional remote sensor individually. |
Optional sensor mapping
| Function No. | Optional sensor | Enable setting |
|---|---|---|
| 31 | Sensor 1 | 01 |
| 32 | Sensor 2 | 01 |
| 33 | Sensor 3 | 01 |
| 34 | Sensor 4 | 01 |
| 35 | Sensor 5 | 01 |
| 36 | Sensor 6 | 01 |
| 37 | Sensor 7 | 01 |
| 38 | Sensor 8 | 01 |
Indoor Unit setting
| Function No. | Setting No. | Description |
|---|---|---|
| 42 | 01 | Sets room-temperature sensor switching to Both, allowing the indoor-unit sensor and wired remote-controller temperature sensor to be active. |
2. Setting procedure
Step 1 - Open Zone Function Setting
- From the main screen, touch Menu.
- Touch Next Page until Maintenance is displayed.
- Touch Maintenance.
- Move through the Maintenance pages and select Zone Function Setting.
Step 2 - Enable the Zone Controller sensors
- Touch Function No., select 07, then touch OK.
- Touch Setting No., select 01, then touch OK.
- Repeat the process for Function 08 when a secondary wired-controller sensor is installed.
- For each connected optional sensor, select the applicable Function No. from 31 to 38 and set it to 01.
Step 3 - Set Indoor Unit Function 42
- Touch Back to leave Zone Function Setting.
- Return to the Maintenance screen and select Function Setting.
- Select the applicable indoor-unit address.
- Select Function No. 42.
- Set the value to 01 and confirm with OK.
Programming sequence: Configure the Zone Function Settings first, then configure Indoor Unit Function 42. Complete Zone Initial Setting only after the required sensor functions have been enabled.
3. Verify active sensors
After programming, confirm that the intended sensors appear in the controller's Priority Sensor list.
- From the controller home screen, touch Zone.
- Touch Priority Sensor.
- Review the displayed sensor numbers and confirm the required sensors are active.
| Sensor number | Sensor description |
|---|---|
| 1 | Indoor unit sensor |
| 2 | Primary wired remote controller |
| 3 | Secondary wired remote controller |
| 4-11 | Optional sensors 1-8 |
Fail-safe display: Sensor 1, the indoor-unit sensor, remains visible in the Priority Sensor list regardless of whether it is selected for normal control. It is retained as a fail-safe if the other sensors become unavailable.
4. Example configuration
For a system using the primary wired-controller sensor and one optional remote sensor:
| Setting | Function No. | Setting No. | Result |
|---|---|---|---|
| Primary WRC sensor | 07 | 01 | Primary controller sensor enabled |
| Optional sensor 1 | 31 | 01 | Optional sensor 1 enabled |
| Room-temperature sensor switching | 42 | 01 | Indoor unit and wired remote-controller sensors active |
5. Important service notes
- Perform all required function settings before Zone Initial Setting.
- Only enable optional sensors that are physically installed and correctly wired.
- Confirm the correct indoor-unit address before changing Function 42.
- Clearly identify each optional sensor and its assigned zone in the commissioning documentation.
- After programming, use the Priority Sensor screen to confirm the controller has registered the intended sensors.
- If a sensor does not appear, recheck its wiring, connection, applicable Zone Function number and setting value before repeating Zone Initial Setting.
