Part Number: 325739
Overview
The NBC24V1BLCWMN is a compact battery charger module designed to manage and charge a 24V / 7.2Ah lead-acid battery or two 12V / 7.2Ah batteries connected in series.
This system provides backup power for control electronics—particularly superheat drivers (Danfoss EKE1D / EKE1C)—in the event of a mains supply failure.
Functional Description
The charger ensures stable 27V DC output for maintaining charge and automatic float-mode operation once full capacity is reached.
Key Electrical Specifications
| Parameter | Description |
|---|---|
| Input Power | 110–230 VAC, 50–60 Hz |
| Output Voltage | 27 VDC |
| Output Current | 0.4 A |
| Battery Type | 24 V / 7.2 Ah lead-acid |
| Status Output | Open collector NPN for battery condition signalling |
Typical Application
Chiller and rooftop units using Danfoss EXD316 and EKE1D/EKE1C drivers
Elevator rescue systems
Industrial backup and communication modules
⚠ Important:
If an EKE1D or EKE1C Superheat Driver fails, verify the battery charger output first before installing a replacement driver.
A failed or undercharged battery module can cause false driver fault codes or improper valve control.
Installation Procedure (Summary)
From the Battery Installation Instruction – G.I. Industrial Holding SPA Battery_Installation_Instructio…
Check the Battery Condition
Ensure batteries are physically intact and terminals are clean.
Mount Components
Install the charger on the DIN rail within the electrical cabinet.
Secure the new battery near the existing battery pack.
Wiring
Disconnect the original battery wiring.
Connect in series with the supplied bridge harness to achieve 24VDC (observe polarity).
Connect the charger in parallel across the full battery pack (see wiring diagram on page 3 of the manual).
Female fastons connect to the battery; male fastons connect to the EXD316 driver harness.
Electrical Connection
Power the charger using 230 VAC supply (L, N, and Earth).
Output terminals connect to BAT + / BAT – and LOAD 24V as per schematic.
Verification
Confirm 27VDC output across the battery terminals.
Check for correct LED indicator behaviour on the charger.
Ensure wiring integrity to all EXD drivers before commissioning.
System Diagram (Reference – Page 3)
The schematic shows the charger connected in parallel to four batteries.
The diagram labelled “After installation of the kit” indicates additional lines from NBC24V1BLC to the battery pack and EXD316 control driver.
Included Components
| Item | Description | Code |

Field Service Note
Battery voltage should be ≥ 24VDC before connecting to the EKE/EXD controllers.
If voltage drops below 21VDC, replace or recharge before recommissioning.
Always observe polarity to prevent board damage.
Use this check as the first diagnostic step before replacing EKE or EXD modules on chillers or rooftop units.
