VRF Outdoor Unit DIP Switch Settings

SET1–SET5 and REF AD reference by outdoor unit model
Reference covering S-Series, R-Series, VR-II, V-III and VR-IV outdoor units
The outdoor PCB DIP switch configuration varies according to model, compressor capacity and product generation. Always confirm the exact outdoor unit model before changing SET1–SET5.
How to read the tables: Each SET column shows DIP switches 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 in that order. For example, OFF / ON / OFF / OFF means switch 1 OFF, switch 2 ON, switch 3 OFF and switch 4 OFF.

6. REF AD Setting

The source tables also show two rotary REF AD switches:

  • ×10 – tens digit
  • ×1 – units digit

These rotary switches are used for refrigerant-system addressing. Set the address according to the installation and system configuration requirements rather than using the DIP capacity setting alone.

Important: Do not change outdoor-unit DIP switches purely on the basis of capacity. Confirm the full model number and series. Similar-capacity outdoor units from different generations use different SET1 and SET2 combinations.
Service procedure: Isolate power before altering PCB DIP switches. Changes should be made by appropriately qualified service personnel and checked against the applicable service or installation documentation before power is restored.
