Wall-Mounted Split Installation Guide

For approved AOTG34KMTC R32 outdoor unit and UTY-RNRYZ3 wired controller
R32 flammable refrigerant: Installation, pressure testing, evacuation, charging and service work must be completed by qualified personnel using R32/R410A-rated equipment. Remove ignition sources, ventilate the work area and use a suitable R32 leak detector.
Room-area requirement: Confirm the total refrigerant charge against the indoor-unit minimum room-area table before installation. Mechanical connections must remain accessible and indoor flare connections must be positioned outdoors.

2. Indoor-unit installation

Human sensor: Approximate detection range is 7 m, 90° vertically and 100° horizontally. Keep heaters and large objects outside the detection area.
Three piping directions: rear, right and bottom. Cut the front-panel groove only where required.
  1. Select a strong, level wall with unrestricted airflow, suitable drainage and adequate service access.
  2. Secure the wall-hook bracket horizontally and vertically using at least five suitable fixing screws.
  3. Cut an 80 mm wall hole with the outdoor edge 5–10 mm lower than the indoor edge.
  4. Fit a wall pipe and wall cap so the cable cannot contact raw metal.
  5. Keep the drain hose below the refrigerant pipes and maintain continuous fall.
  6. Engage the upper hooks first, then push the lower section onto the bottom hooks.
Flare location: The indoor-unit flare connection must be installed outdoors. Do not bury or conceal the mechanical connection.

3. Outdoor-unit installation

  • Install on a strong level base using four M10 anchor bolts.
  • Do not tilt the outdoor unit more than 3°.
  • Allow at least 50 mm below the unit and adequate service clearance around all sides.
  • Where the front is obstructed, provide at least 600 mm clearance.
  • Where the rear only is obstructed, provide at least 100 mm clearance.
  • Where rear and both sides are obstructed, allow at least 100 mm rear, 100 mm one side and 250 mm the other side.
  • Raise the unit and provide snow protection in freezing or heavy-snow locations.

4. Flare connections

Use R32/R410A-compatible flare tools. Maintain a bend radius of at least 70 mm and do not bend the same pipe section more than three times.

5. Nitrogen sealing test

  1. Confirm both service valves are closed and power remains isolated.
  2. Introduce dry nitrogen to both liquid and gas lines.
  3. Pressurise the system to 4.15 MPa.
  4. Leak-test all flare connections and brazed joints.
  5. Allow the system to stand for 24 hours and confirm the pressure has not fallen.
  6. Allow for ambient-temperature change: approximately 0.05 MPa per 5°C.

6. Vacuum and additional charging

  1. Connect a clean R32/R410A manifold and vacuum pump.
  2. Evacuate to -0.1 MPa / -76 cmHg and confirm 65 Pa / 500 microns.
  3. Continue operating the vacuum pump for at least 60 minutes.
  4. Close the manifold, stop the pump and confirm the vacuum holds.
  5. Fully open both service valves using a 4 mm hex key at 6–7 N·m.
  6. For pipework over 30 m, charge liquid R32 by electronic scale at 45 g/m.

7. Electrical wiring

Match terminals 1, 2 and 3 between indoor and outdoor units and connect protective earth. Clamp cables by the outer sheath.

Route demand-control wiring away from power and interconnection cables. The demand-control terminals are DRM1, DRM2, DRM3 and Common.

8. UTY-RNRYZ3 wired controller

Required interface: The ASTG30/34KMTC indoor unit requires communication kit UTY-TWRXZ2 for a 2-wire wired controller.

  1. Isolate power and discharge static electricity before opening the controller.
  2. Separate the front and rear cases and disconnect the front-case connector.
  3. Set the controller backup DIP switch to ON.
  4. Mount the rear case to a switch box or wall and seal the cable entry against moisture.
  5. Connect the non-polar remote-controller cable and secure the sheath with the cable tie.
  6. At the indoor unit, connect through the UTY-TWRXZ2 communication kit and set indoor PCB switch SW1 to 2WIRE.
  7. Reconnect the front-case connector and refit the controller face.
  8. On first start, complete language, master/slave, date/time, temperature unit and password-default settings.
Do not connect the controller to power terminals. Keep controller wiring separate from mains, interconnection and transmission cables.

9. Test run and commissioning

Crankcase heater: Supply power to the outdoor unit for more than six hours before test operation.
  1. Confirm all wiring, earth, pipe insulation, drainage and stop valves.
  2. Confirm the correct refrigerant charge and that no inlet or outlet is obstructed.
  3. Perform the first test operation in cooling.
  4. Test run can be initiated from the controller or from the outdoor PCB using SELECT and ENTER.
  5. During test run, room-temperature control is disabled and operation is continuous.
  6. Check for abnormal noise, vibration, correct cooling/heating output and outdoor ERROR LED indication.
