Wall-Mounted Split Installation Guide

For approved AOTG09KMCB / AOTG12KMCB R32 outdoor units
R32 flammable refrigerant: Installation, pressure testing, evacuation and service work must be completed by qualified personnel using R32/R410A-rated tools and materials. Eliminate ignition sources, ventilate the work area and use an R32-compatible leak detector.

Short pipework: Pipe runs below 3 m may transfer outdoor-unit sound to the indoor unit and produce higher perceived operating noise.

Piping direction

The KMCB indoor unit supports six pipe routes: Rear Right Bottom Left-bottom Left Left-rear
1Choose a strong, level wall with unrestricted airflow, suitable drain fall and adequate WLAN reception.
2Fit the wall-hook bracket level using at least five large fixing screws.
3Cut a 65 mm hole with the outside edge 5–10 mm lower than the inside edge.
4Fit a wall pipe and wall cap to prevent the interconnection cable contacting raw metal.
5For left-side routes, transfer the drain hose and drain cap to the opposite side and refit the retaining screw.
6Keep the drain hose below the refrigerant pipes and confirm continuous fall.
7Hang the unit on the upper hooks, align the pipe marks and engage both lower hooks.
Drainage: Do not lift the hose, create waves or submerge its end. In low-temperature locations, protect the drain hose from freezing.

4. Outdoor-unit installation

  • Install on a strong, level stand and limit tilt to less than 5°.
  • Do not install directly on the ground.
  • Secure against strong wind and maintain unrestricted discharge airflow.
  • Keep at least three of the four horizontal sides open where possible.
  • Do not fit the drain pipe or caps where freezing may block drainage.

Use R32/R410A-compatible flare tools. Maintain a bend radius of at least 70 mm and do not bend the same section more than three times.

6. Pressure test

Dry nitrogen only. Never use refrigerant, oxygen, compressed air, flammable gas or combustible gas to pressure-test the pipework.
1Confirm both service valves are fully closed and power remains isolated.
2Introduce dry nitrogen into both the liquid and suction lines.
3Pressurise the system to 4.15 MPa.
4Leak-test indoor and outdoor flare connections.
5Confirm system pressure does not fall before releasing test pressure safely.

7. Vacuum and drying process

1Connect the manifold to the 3-way valve charging port with both service valves closed.
2Operate an R32/R410A-compatible vacuum pump.
3Achieve -0.1 MPa or 65 Pa / 500 microns.
4Continue vacuum operation for at least 15 minutes.
5Close the manifold, stop the pump and stand for 1–2 minutes. Confirm the gauge does not rise.
6Crack the 3-way valve until pressure reaches approximately 0.1–0.2 MPa, then remove the hose.
7Fully open both service valves and tighten all caps.

8. Electrical wiring

Match terminals 1, 2 and 3 between the indoor and outdoor units and connect protective earth. Clamp cables by the outer sheath.

Keep the demand-control signal cable separate from the mains and interconnection wiring to prevent electrical interference.

9. Test run and final checks

Wireless remote controller

  1. Connect power and wait at least one minute.
  2. Press START/STOP.
  3. Press the recessed TEST RUN button using a ballpoint pen or similar object.
  4. Press START/STOP to finish the test.

Indoor-unit button

Hold the MANUAL AUTO button for more than 10 seconds to begin the forced test. The OPERATION and TIMER lamps flash together. Stop using START/STOP on the remote controller.
