The cable and circuit breaker values above are the sample values shown in the technical manual. Final selection must comply with the applicable Australian/New Zealand electrical rules and installation conditions. Keep voltage drop below 2%; increase conductor size where required.

5. Controls, external input/output and group control

Indoor external input – CN2

The indoor PCB supports an external dry-contact input on CN2. The signal type is edge and the operating mode is selected by Function 46.

Function 46ModeOperation
00Operation / Stop mode 1External input starts/stops the unit; remote controller remains enabled.
02Forced stopExternal input forces the indoor unit to stop until the signal is released.
03Operation / Stop mode 2External stop disables remote-controller operation while stopped.

CN2 input electrical condition: DC 12–24 V, 1–15 mA. Use twisted-pair cable, maximum 150 m, and route separately from power wiring.

Indoor external output – CN3

CN3 provides a selectable 12 V DC status output. Use Function 60 to select the output function.

Function 60Output
00Operation status
09Error status
10Indoor fan operation status

CN3 output: High = DC 12 V ± 2 V, Low = 0 V, permissible current 50 mA. Twisted pair cable maximum 25 m.

Group control

  • Up to 16 indoor units can be controlled from one wired remote controller.
  • Maximum total remote-controller cable length for group control is 300 m.
  • Cable size: up to 100 m = 0.3–0.8 mm²; 100–200 m = 0.5–0.8 mm²; 200–300 m = 0.8 mm².
  • Each indoor unit must have a unique remote-controller address using Function 00, values 00–15.

Optional controllers and connection parts

Wired remote controllerUTY-RVNYNPolar 3-wire wired controller; communication kit required.
Simple remote controllerUTY-RSNYNBasic start/stop, mode, fan and temperature control; communication kit required.
External connect kitUTY-XWZXConnection to indoor PCB external input/output functions.

AOTG34CMTB outdoor external I/O

The outdoor external input/output functions below apply to AOTG34CMTB only in this technical manual.
ConnectorFunction
CN10Low noise mode input
CN11Peak cut mode input
CN12Error status output
CN13Compressor status output

Outdoor external connection uses optional kit UTY-XWZXZ3. Low noise and peak cut inputs use a contact input and must be within 10 m of the PCB. Outdoor status outputs require an external power supply of DC 24 V or less and a load of DC 500 mA or less.

6. Indoor function settings

Caution: Incorrect function settings can cause incorrect operation. Record the original settings before making changes.

Entering function setting mode using the wireless remote

  1. While pressing POWERFUL and TEMP ▲ together, press RESET.
  2. Select the function number with the TEMP buttons. Use ECONOMY to move between digits.
  3. Press POWERFUL to move to the setting value.
  4. Select the setting value with the TEMP buttons.
  5. Press MODE once and confirm the beep.
  6. Press START/STOP to save and confirm the beep.
  7. Press RESET to exit.
  8. Disconnect power, wait at least 30 seconds, then reconnect power to activate the setting.
