Overview
The myanywAiR® system is a Wi-Fi–enabled control solution that allows users to operate their Fujitsu air conditioner or heat pump from a smartphone or tablet using the myanywAiR App.
This article explains when an internet connection is required and how the system behaves with or without one.
1. When an Internet Connection Is Required
A stable internet connection is necessary for all remote-control functions — that is, when operating the unit away from the home or building network.
| Feature | Requires Internet? | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Remote ON/OFF control | ✅ Yes | Sends control commands from your phone to the air conditioner through the cloud. |
| Temperature & mode changes | ✅ Yes | Adjusts cooling/heating and fan speed settings remotely. |
| Timer scheduling (scenes) | ✅ Yes | Synchronises programmed operations with cloud servers. |
| App pairing & initial setup | ✅ Yes | Required to link the anywAiR Wi-Fi adaptor with your home network. |
| App updates & firmware upgrades | ✅ Yes | Ensures ongoing compatibility and security. |
⚠️ Important: The myanywAiR system connects via the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi band. Dual-band routers must have 2.4 GHz enabled for setup and communication.
2. When Internet Connection Is Not Required
Once setup is complete and both your mobile device and the Wi-Fi adaptor are connected to the same local network, limited local control remains available even if external internet access is lost.
Local-network control allows:
Turning the unit ON/OFF
Changing temperature, mode, or fan speed
Monitoring room temperature
However:
Remote control (outside the local Wi-Fi zone) will not function.
Scene/timer synchronisation may pause until connectivity is restored.
? Tip for Technicians: During site testing, you can verify local-only control by disconnecting the router’s WAN connection while maintaining Wi-Fi. The app should still communicate with the adaptor on the local IP.
3. Recommended Internet Specifications
To ensure reliable operation:
Wi-Fi band: 2.4 GHz (802.11 b/g/n)
Signal strength: Minimum –65 dBm at indoor unit location
Network type: WPA2-secured home or office router (no captive portals)
Upload speed: ≥ 1 Mbps for stable cloud communication
? For installations with weak Wi-Fi signals, consider using a Wi-Fi extender near the indoor unit.
4. Troubleshooting Connectivity Issues
If the myanywAiR App shows “Offline” or fails to connect:
Check the Wi-Fi adaptor’s LED indicator – steady light confirms connection.
Ensure the router’s SSID or password has not changed.
Reboot both the router and anywAiR adaptor.
Open the app and select Re-connect Device under Settings.
Confirm the mobile device is connected to the same 2.4 GHz network.
Persistent connection issues may require re-pairing the adaptor following the official setup guide.
5. Summary
| Usage Scenario | Internet Required? | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Operating from outside home | ✅ Yes | Turning on the system before arriving home |
| Operating while connected to same Wi-Fi | ❌ No (local only) | Adjusting settings from another room |
| Initial setup and pairing | ✅ Yes | Connecting adaptor to home network |
| Routine operation with router offline | ⚠️ Limited | Basic local commands only |
6. Key Takeaways
The myanywAiR App uses cloud communication for remote access.
A reliable 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connection with internet is essential for full functionality.
Local control remains available when on the same Wi-Fi network.
Internet downtime limits app control to local commands only.
