2 Wire Remote Controller Instructions
Application: Use this procedure when installing a 2-wire remote controller to an indoor unit that is fitted with a 3-wire remote controller terminal/interface.
Connection Procedure
- Connect the 2-wire remote controller cable to the appropriate connecting cable / adaptor lead.
- Insert the connecting cable into connector CNC01 on the indoor unit PCB.
- Locate DIP switch SW1 on the indoor unit PCB.
- Move SW1 from the 3WIRE position to the 2WIRE position.
- Where required, connect the functional earth from the remote controller cable to the indoor unit earth/ground point.
Important: The 2-wire remote controller connection is non-polar. The two communication conductors do not have a positive/negative orientation.
Indoor Unit PCB Settings
| Item | Required Setting |
|---|---|
| PCB connector | CNC01 |
| DIP switch | SW1 |
| SW1 position | 2WIRE |
| Remote controller cable | Non-polar, 2-wire |
| Functional earth | Connect if required by the applicable controller/cable arrangement |
If the Remote Controller Does Not Operate
- Confirm SW1 is set to 2WIRE.
- Confirm the connecting cable is fully seated in CNC01.
- Check both remote controller conductors for continuity and secure termination.
- Check that the correct adaptor/connecting cable has been used for the indoor unit.
- If the unit was powered while changing the wiring or DIP switch position, isolate power and restart the indoor unit before retesting.
Safety: Isolate the electrical supply before accessing the indoor unit PCB or changing wiring and DIP switch settings.
